About me
I am Vytautas Tallat-Kelpša—a sculptor, ceramicist, and painter, actively creating and exhibiting since 1980. In my work, I analyze the relationship between realistic forms, volume, and content, seeking a new plastic language. Through visual deconstruction and the stylization of form, I strive for a modern and aesthetic resonance in every piece. I enjoy playing with scale and proportions to give objects an unexpected perspective. I embody my ideas using diverse materials: bronze, chamotte, stone, and wood. Each material dictates its own philosophy, which I transform into an intellectual art object.

Sculpture, for me, is a dialogue between space and matter, where I seek new forms of plastic language through bronze, chamotte, stone, and wood. By playing with scale and proportions, I aim to deconstruct reality and transform it into an intellectual object with profound emotional weight.
See my artworkSculpture in public places
My decorative sculptures, such as Business Flight, The Panevėžys Keymaker, and The Panevėžys Businessman, bring modern dynamism and aesthetic identity to urban streets. These works transform public spaces into open-air galleries, where sculptural forms and expressive materials—from bronze to stone—engage in a direct dialogue with the passerby. By playing with scale and volumetric structures, these pieces serve as both architectural highlights and new focal points for the community.

Memorial plaques are more than just a record of information – they are a subtle connection between architectural space and historical memory. In every relief, I strive to use material plasticity and composition to give personalities or events an aesthetic form of lasting value.

For me, painting is a space of colors and brushstrokes where I seek new emotional and plastic resonances through visual deconstruction. In every canvas, I strive to merge the stylization of form with inner content, giving traditional imagery a modern and intellectual expression.
See my artworksSymposia
Throughout my career, I have participated in 27 international symposia across Europe and organized six stone sculpture forums in Panevėžys. Works created during these events, such as Sisyphus or the three-meter-tall Archer in Turkey, have become prominent urban landmarks. These symposium pieces have been acquired by both Lithuanian cities and prestigious foreign institutions, including the Kalmar Maritime Academy in Sweden.
